Particularly stable transmission and search performance thanks to its INTERFERENCE PROTECTION SYSTEM (IPS) and DUAL ANTENNA SIGNAL PROCESSING (DASP) technology are groundbreaking innovations that make the PIEPS PRO IPS the absolute benchmark for avalanche transceivers. IPS optimally reduces the influence of interference in transmit mode. DASP enables unprecedented signal stability during the search by simultaneously processing the signal of the X and Y antennas.

SCAN Function

Keep track of everything! This function provides a quick overview of the situation with multiple buried subjects and shows the number of buried subjects in a specific close range area.

Victim Selection

Create an optimized search strategy for the situation! In the detailed SCAN mode, the PIEPS transceiver shows the direction and distance to each buried subject to enable a targeted rescue strategy.

PRO-mode Group Check

Check like a pro! The PIEPS PRO IPS additionally provides a “pro-mode” function to efficiently check that transceivers in the group are transmitting and receiving correctly and if the transmission parameters comply with the standard.

Inclinometer

The inclinometer function shows the slope of the terrain.

Advanced Search Control

Visual, acoustic, and haptic support during the search. Requires reversal if approaching in the wrong direction (180° error).

Automatic Antenna Switching

Always uses the antenna with the strongest signal.

Ghost Signal Suppression

PIEPS' sophisticated signal verification only shows signals from transceivers and not "ghost signals" from other sources.

Auto Revert – Automatic return from SEARCH to SEND

Once enabled, in the event of a secondary avalanche, the PIEPS transceiver automatically switches from search to send after a certain period of inactivity due to burial (sensor does not register movement).

Recognition of deeply buried subjects

The PRO IPS is capable of detecting and indicating subjects buried deeper than 2 m.

Backup Mode

Backup Mode is designed for rescuers engaged in passive search activities, such as probing or shoveling. Here, Backup Mode disables the "SEND" signal when the device is in SEND position, so that other rescuers can focus on the signal of the buried victim. Transmission (sending) automatically resumes when no movement is detected for a predetermined time (Auto-Revert timeout), preceded by a 30-second countdown.

INTERFERENCE PROTECTION SYSTEM (IPS)

This unique technology compensates for the influence of electronic and metallic interference on the transmitting device by analyzing and adapting to the interfering source.

Therefore, the PIEPS PRO IPS provides maximum transmission power. Thus, in an emergency, PIEPS PRO IPS users are better protected from interference from personal items that could minimize transmission power. Electronic products can cause a variety of interferences.

With the IPS system, we are able to compensate for a large part, but due to their diversity, we cannot exclude all interferences. Therefore, we still recommend a minimum distance of 20 cm in transmit mode and 50 cm in search mode from possible sources of interference.

DUAL ANTENNA SIGNAL PROCESSING (DASP)

PIEPS' already established signal tracking quality has been further increased with PIEPS PRO IPS, capable of simultaneously processing the signal on the X and Y antenna, which is a unique innovation among avalanche transceivers. This ensures even more precise localization of the transmitted signal, effective elimination of ghost signals, and a very high range. Thus, users see an extremely reliable and stable direction indication right from the first signal.
