What is POC?
Push to Talk over Cellular (POC) is a communication technology that enables instant, geographically unlimited group calls at the push of a single button. POC radios communicate quickly and securely across Europe using LTE/WiFi networks, with encrypted digital communications.
Terminals support group, individual, and emergency calls with caller identification and allow the use of any SIM card, including multi-operator ones.
Hytalk is the POC solution from Hytera Europe, a market leader with extensive experience in professional digital radio communications.
Hytera's Push to Talk over Cellular system leverages the LTE cellular network and/or WiFi network and consists of the following main elements:
Hytalk POC Server (communication node) in the cloud managed by BPG
Portable POC terminals, equipped with customer's 1GB monthly data SIM cards or provided by BPG optional
Control Center operator station (Hytalk web Dispatcher) optional
BUY & TRY
All POC radios include a "Buy & Try" formula, meaning that after purchasing the product, you have 15 days to try it out. If you like it, you can keep it,
otherwise you are free to return it and we will issue a refund.
Frequently asked questions
What range do PoC radios cover?
Operating via cellular telephone networks and WI-FI networks, POC radios have an unlimited range capable of covering the entire national and European territory.
How much does it cost to use this system?
Costs include the purchase of a Hytera-branded POC radio terminal from those available on the Website, along with the subscription service (annual or multi-year) to the Hytalk POC server (communication node) in the cloud managed by BPG.
Once the initial period has ended, the service will be automatically renewed. By consulting the Subscription Terms and Conditions, you can view the related recurring costs for each subscription service.
Is it possible to use POC radios without an annual Hytalk subscription?
No, POC radios work exclusively through the Hytalk server (communication node) in the cloud managed by BPG.
Do you offer a trial period for these radios?
Yes, through the contact form above you can request a 15-day free trial.
In case of POC radio failure, what service do you offer?
The purchase of a POC radio includes a free technical support service at our laboratories, which covers manufacturing defects under warranty.
Furthermore, it is possible to purchase the 24-month extended warranty service with PREMIUM extended coverage (total 4 years), which includes electrical or mechanical repair or replacement of the radio terminal with priority, specialized remote technical support during office hours, and firmware updates.
Do these radios work with Wi-Fi?
Yes, the advantage of these radios is that if a Wi-Fi connection is available, you can communicate within your company or facility without any additional cost.
Alternatively, you can use a single-operator or multi-operator data SIM and utilize the LTE cellular network (additional costs depending on data traffic).
What type of SIM card should be used?
These radios work with data SIMs. By consuming only a few gigabytes of internet, you can opt for a low-cost subscription. If you also want to communicate abroad, we also have a multi-operator SIM available.
The multi-operator SIM automatically enables roaming between: TIM, Vodafone, Wind Tre, Iliad, offering the maximum possible coverage on 4 mobile networks.
With the subscription, is the radio purchased or leased by me?
The subscription includes the purchase of a POC radio, which becomes your property.
Once the initial period ends, the service will automatically renew. By consulting the Subscription Terms and Conditions, you can view the recurring costs for each subscription service.
What's different from classic two-way radios?
Unlike classic two-way radios, POC radios operate over the LTE/WI-FI cellular network, allowing communication without distance limits by pressing the PTT button.
VHF/UHF two-way radios, on the other hand, have a limited range and require the installation of repeaters to communicate over long distances. Repeaters incur high operating costs and ministerial fees for frequency usage.
What changes compared to mobile phones?
Unlike cell phones, where you have to dial each number to make individual calls, POC radios allow you to talk to all your team members instantly, by simply pressing the PTT button.
POC radios also allow you to create customized communication groups.
Traditional cell phones have a battery life of less than 8 hours. POC radios, on the other hand, have a 36-hour battery life, allowing you to communicate for several working days without interruption.
